The Defence Seminar which intimated to the world Sri Lanka’s pride of routing terrorism ends on a very successful note.
The three-day Seminar organized to share Sri Lanka’s experience in counterinsurgency with the world opened last Tuesday. Senior military representatives from many countries attended this Seminar. Sri Lanka clarified to the foreign representatives the most difficult and challenging programme which was launched on many directions to uproot terrorism. These representatives were given an opportunity to raise queries openly on any issue. Addresses were made today, the final day of the Seminar by President’s Secretary Lelith Weeratunge, Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabral and Rehabilitation Commissioner General Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe.
Army Commander Lt. Gen. Jagath Jayasuriya emphasized that the wide awareness gained from the Seminar earned accolades from the foreign defence hierarchy.
