JVP accused of planning to re-introduce the fear psychosis period

Jun 2, 2011 12:01:35 PM - itnnews.lk

Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has accused the JVP of plans to re-introduce the fear psychosis to cover up their political bankruptcy. The Minister made this accusation addressing the weekly Cabinet news briefing today.

The Minister said the Government decided to exclude the FTZ employees from the Pensions Scheme to which amendments could be effect after seeking their views and proposals, if they were averse to it. He said the decision was made before the protests were staged. In this background, there is a clear doubt that extremist forces were behind it. A massive attempt was made to disturb the University network by these extremists, particularly the JVP group. As they did not succeed in this effort, they started interfering in issues of workers and drag them into an unfortunate situation. It is very clear that they are politically bankrupt as they did not expect it. As such, the Minister added this extremists group was attempting to drag the country back into the 88-89 dark era.
