The brother of Roshen Shanaka who succumbed to injuries due to disturbance within the Free Trade Zone has appealed that no one should try to exploit political benefits through his death.
Madushan Ratnasekera, the brother of Shanaka said it was his first younger brother who had died. He said he was studying at the Medical Faculty of the Sri Jayawardenapura University. He wished to make a request from the public to allow them to conduct a private burial, without the involvement of any political party or trade union. He revealed that his brother who had died had not yet completed four months of service and had not even cast his vote in any election and had not been affiliated to any political party or trade union. He made a fervent appeal that his brother should not be considered as a member of any political party or trade union. It is a know fact that political parties are trying to brand him as their party member. He said it is a shame for his family.
