Geetha Kaduwela with her family

Mother’s Touch is an Academy with a special focus on producing world class Teachers and Caregivers to nurture World Class Citizens. It is the brainchild and vision of Mrs. Geetha Kaduwela, who made it a reality on her return from Australia, qualified in this specialized field. The name ‘Mother’s Touch’ itself conveys the warmth and simplicity associated with reaching out to a child.
She foresaw the dearth and understood the crying need and demand for professional Care Givers, quality Day Care facilities and Teacher Training in Sri Lanka and overseas. Her Mission is to protect children and ensure their safety, health and nutrition with education through a stress free environment, inculcating joy and independence in children in their early childhood while fostering the uniqueness of every child.
Her fervent desire to convey this important message, to all mothers of infants and young children, especially career based parents and single parents needing assistance, convinced her that with her qualifications and experience, she was in an ideal position to contribute to this dire need for professional care giving.
Kaduwela began her first ‘Child Care and Teacher Training Diploma Program’ in 2005 in humble beginnings with a small group of individuals. Nostalgically reflecting on the past 5 years she proudly mentions that of the students who have passed through her hands many of them have left the country to further their studies or for overseas employment.
Another specialty at ‘Mother’s Touch’ is the Early Childhood Development and preschool programs for 2 ½ to 6 year olds which help children to adjust smoothly to a school environment. Her belief is that children should learn through play and that is exactly how her programs are formulated inculcating educational aids, toys and outdoor activities designed to achieve this balance.
In recognition of the high standards and training methodology at ‘Mother’s Touch’ her institute was accepted by the National Tertiary and Vocational Training Commission (TVEC ), Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) and further recognized by City and Guilds  of the United Kingdom which certainly is an added value to the Diploma Certificates on offer.
She attributes her success in the academic field to her qualified, motivated and creative staff that is committed to providing quality programs and care.
As a result many students have been able to gain employment in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, New Zealand, USA and Middle Eastern Countries with British based curricula.
Kaduwela is hands on in her chosen field and available to discuss any matter concerning the Centre, or your child as her emphasis is on the fact that a child’s happiness is primary to its development.
