Bullets flew at an apartment complex in Northeast Richland County early Tuesday morning but sheriffs deputies responding to the gunfire found little.
A car and the side of an apartment at 2401 Faraway Drive were struck by the shots, but no other harm was done.
"No person was hit," said Sheriffs Capt. Chris Cowan.
The shots were fired around 12:30 a.m.. Someone called 911 to report gunfire but by the time officers arrived on the scene, they found no clues as to what had happened.
"We are trying to make a determination of what happened and why," Cowan said. "The owner of that vehicle did live in that building."
