JVP parliamentarians today questioned the government about the inclusion of the Private Pension Scheme Bill in the parliamentary order paper when the government has announced it has been withdrawn.
JVP parliamentary group leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake had questioned the government as to why the Bill has not been removed from the order paper.
Chief Opposition Whip John Ameratunge had also asked why the Bill has not been removed from the parliament agenda.
Ameratunge had queried if the Cabinet had officially decided to withdraw the Bill.
Responding to the opposition queries, Leader of the House Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva had said the Bill could be removed from the order paper only after reaching an agreement at the party leaders’ meeting.
The Bill has reportedly been listed in the order paper as item number 14 to be taken up for debate.
