The Township auditorium reopens June 10 with a concert headlined by singer Tony Bennett, officials announced Thursday morning in a news conference.
The auditorium on Taylor Street is undergoing a $12 million renovation, which should be completed next month. The Township closed in June 2009 for the facelift, which includes a new façade and atrium, a new box office, a passenger elevator, upgraded backstage and infrastructure improvements.
Bennett, 84, is one of the world's leading ballad singers, and has collaborated with everyone from Frank Sinatra to Elvis Costello and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Already announced is a June 19 date with comedian Ron White.
