South Carolina is planning to again welcome visitors every day of the week.
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism announced Wednesday that all nine of its highway welcome centers will be open seven days per week as of July 1.
Most of the rest stops had been closed two days a week because of budget problems.
Agency chief Duane Parrish says the centers are important to help grow the state's tourism industry, which generates about $18 billion a year.
Officials say that when the centers reopen next month, they will offer free Wi-Fi to visitors. They'll also show advertising from regional tourism bureaus and visitor centers, whose funding will help keep the centers running.
