EPDP Leader Douglas Devananda has presented new proposals to provide a solution to the Northern problem, acceptable to all.
The Minister has presented the proposals to President Rajapaksa and the Indian delegation now in the island. The proposals stress the need to appoint a select committee of members representing all political parties in Parliament to provide a solution to the ethnic conflict within a definite time frame. The Minister has recalled that his party held discussions with the Government led by the President and all political parties for reconciliation after the elimination of terrorism. The Minister has pointed out the importance of finding a specific solution in view of the facts agreed by them. The Minister has expressed confidence that it would find a solution acceptable to all communities.
