The high level Indian delegation has informed that Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has accepted the invitation extended by the President to visit Sri Lanka.
The high level Indian delegation met President Rajapaksa this morning. The delegation includes their National Security Advisor Mr. Shiv Shankar Menon, Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao and Defence Secretary Pradeep Kumar. The delegation also handed over a letter to the President sent by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh accepting the invitation to visit Sri Lanka. The Indian delegation exchanged views with the President strengthening the friendship between the two countries. The Indian prime Minister’s visit will be another watershed in the friendship between the two countries. It will be the first time for an Indian leader to visit Sri Lanka after the elimination of terrorism.
