Legal action against those who obstruct dengue eradication activities

Legal action will be taken against those who obstruct dengue eradication work.

The Health Minister has decided to hold discussions with the IGP in this connection. Some residents are alleged to have obstructed officials including the Public Health Inspectors who participated in the dengue eradication work. A resident in Dehiwala has assaulted a Public Health Inspector. A number of incidents connected with abusing, harassing, closing gates and releasing dogs have been reported. During the national dengue eradication week from 20th to 26th of June private premises will be investigated and Minister Maitripala Sirisena has called on the house owners to refrain from obstructing the officials. Legal action will be taken against those who obstruct.
