Foreign Employment Promotion Minister Dilan Perera has revealed that the Korean government will offer 15,000 more employment opportunities to Sri Lankan youths.
The Minister said that the Korean Deputy Industry Minister who visited Sri Lanka two months ago agreed to increase Sri Lanka’s quota to 15,000 from next year on a special request made by President Rajapaksa. He said that 15,000 youths will be able to leave for Korea in the first quarter of 2012-13 if they will gain proficiency in the Korean language.
The Minister expressed these views while addressing youths at a seminar to raise awareness about job opportunities in Korea. The seminar held in Hambantota was organized by the Foreign Employment Bureau.
