The high level Indian delegation currently visiting Sri Lanka has stressed that India does not want to make undue interfere.
The Indian delegation has held discussions with President Mahinda Rajapaksa and several senior officials of the government and representatives of the Tamil political parties. The Indian National Security Advisor Shiv Shankar Menon has stated that the aim of the visit is to strengthen the existing friendship and to find amicable solutions to the prevailing problems. Expressing his views to the Indian media he has said that all discussions were highly successful. He has stressed that India only wants to assist Sri Lanka in solving its problems as a friend and not to make undue interference. Meanwhile the delegation also handed over a letter from the Indian Prime Minister yesterday accepting the invitation extended by the President to visit Sri Lanka.
