Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jeyaram Jayalalithaa has raised issued related to the Indian fishermen and the plight of Sri Lankan Tamils during her discussion with Indian premier Manmohan Singh.
The Indian media has stated that Jayalalithaa has said the two issued had figured prominently in their discussion.
Addressing a press conference after the meeting, Jayalalithaa had said the Prime Minister held out hope for the state.
The Indian media stated that Jayalalithaa had met Singh for about 20 minutes at the latter’s 7 Race Course Road residence.
The Chief Minister had called for the central government’s intervention in Sri Lanka to secure the proper rehabilitation of Tamils there.
