Jun 16, 2011 10:16:59 AM - thesundayleader.lk

The government has said that the party leaders in parliament are yet to discuss the private sector pension bill in order to remove it from the order book in the House.

Chief Government Whip, Minister Dinesh Gunawardena has told the media that there was no need to be concerned about the private sector pensions bill as is it was no it in the list of bills being discussed by the party leaders.

He has explained that a bill is presented to the House after the party leaders discuss and reach an agreement on it.

According to Gunawardena, the private sector pension bill has not been subjected to any discussion at the party leaders meetings.

The UNP and JVP last week raised concerns over the inclusion of the private sector pensions bill in the parliament’s order book when the government had stated that the bill has been withdrawn pending the presentation of a new bill.
