Dr. Hector Weerasinghe ending a 21 year continued service bids farewell to the Colombo National Hospital.

Of his 33 year service period, Dr. Hector Weerasinghe served at the Colombo National Hospital for 21 years. Of this, he had served as the Director of the National Hospital for 11 years. He had been honoured with the Jathika Suwa Vishistatha Swarna Award in 2007, 2009 and 2010. The Accident Ward of the Colombo National Hospital was always geared up on behalf of the lives of civilians who were injured in accidents under the guidance of Dr. Weerasinghe. The injured in the terrorist attacks on the Central Bank as well as in other bomb explosions in Colombo and the suburbs were treated at this unit. His services were not limited to Colombo.

The North and the East as well as every corner of the country received his services. He handled the health staff in a prudent manner in all such instances. He was always prepared to give information to the media when required. We extend our heartfelt greetings to Dr. Hector Weerasinghe who bids farewell ending an outstanding service for two decades.
