MYRTLE BEACH -- The body of a missing swimmer washed ashore Monday morning in Myrtle Beach.
Lakelyon Horton, 25, was found near the beach on 24th Avenue North overnight, said Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.
Myrtle Beach police launched boats Saturday evening near 25th Avenue South and Ocean Boulevard.
According to officer Phillip Cain of city's Beach Patrol, a call came in just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday about a swimmer in distress.
A man walking on the beach saw two swimmers in the water, yelling for help. The beachwalker went in to help, and one of the swimmers managed to make it back to shore, but they lost sight of the other swimmer, a 25-year-old man.
