A bus driver for the CMRTA was cited this morning for hitting a pedestrain, Columbia police reported.
“The driver didn’t yield to a pedestrian and he tapped her,” said Jennifer Timmons, a spokeswoman for the Columbia Police Department.
The accident happened shortly after 8 a.m. at Marion and Laurel streets, Timmons said.
The driver was stopped on Marion Street and attempted a left turn onto Laurel Street when he hit the pedestrian, she said.
The pedestrian was taken to Palmetto Health Richland hospital for treatment, though her injuries were not life-threatening, Timmons said. Her name was not released.
