Britain informs another group of Sri Lankans who had sought refugee status to return to their homes as there are no valid reasons to accept them as refugees. About 40 Sri Lankans who had sought refugee status in Britain were deported last week. Giving this order, the UK Immigration and Emigration Department said a conducive situation prevails in Sri Lanka. As such there was no need to grant them refugee status in Britain. About 26 Sri Lankans returned home last Friday based on this order. It is reported that another group of Sri Lankans was to be deported within the next few days. They are due to arrive in the island before the end of this month.
