The $450 million building on Brush Hill Road will feature 259 private in-patient suites with a state-of-the-art family birthing center, surgical area, emergency department, childrens department, spiritual center, and a retail center that includes a Starbucks and Walgreens. Spokesman Kyle Bauer said the current hospital facility on Berteau Avenue, which opened in the 1920s, will be used for transitional care treatment, behavioral health treatment and cancer treatment. On Saturday morning, the hospital will transfer about 160 patients to the new main campus. The old emergency room will shut down at 5 a.m. and reopen at the new campus. A grand opening festival will take place Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
