Over 1000 to be sued for maintaining mosquito breeding grounds

More than 1000 people will be sued for maintaining dengue mosquito breeding ground. The detection was made on the first day of the Mosquito Control Week launched yesterday.

It was operative for the second day today. Examinations were carried in 305 MOH Divisions yesterday. 14 thousand 886 breeding places had been found. The Health Ministry announced that 1270 property owners will be prosecuted. There had been public obstructions to Health Officers who had been involved in the programme yesterday. Minister Maithripla Sirisensa said stern legal action will be instituted against them.

Meanwhile the Minister announced that the Dengue Control Presidential Task Force would be meeting today. The Minster said it is the obligation of everyone to extend support to this national project.
