Gang leader suspect captured

A Columbia gang leader wanted for allegedly coercing others to join his gang and forcing juveniles to commit crimes to move up the ranks was captured late Wednesday night.
Timothy Antwan Kinlaw, 26, was arrested after the Richland County Sheriff's Department issued arrest warrants on three counts of use of threats or violence by gang members to solicit membership or prevent withdrawal and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He is in the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
Kinlaw allegedly harassed victims to join his gang and told them they had no choice if they refused. He also is accused of threatening to shoot fellow gang members, their families and their houses if they refused, the sheriff's department said.
Kinlaw also is charged with coercing three juveniles into breaking into cars in order for them to gain rank, the sheriff's department said.
