A South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper was jailed this morning after reports he fired a weapon into a home.
S.C. State Law Enforcement officers arrested Justin Grant Gambrell, 25, of Bratcher Road, Belton, on charges of discharging a firearm into a dwelling and use of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.
Gambrell, who has been fired from the Department of Public Safety, was arrested around 4 a.m. and booked at the Greenville County Detention Center, SLED said.
SLED officers investigated the incident at the request of the Department of Public Safety and the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.
Arrest warrants accuses of Gambrell of shooting a firearm from a moving vehicle on Piedmont Highway in Greenville County into a house while being intoxicated. The warrant says the home was struck at least four times.
