Former LTTEers To Sit For A/Levels

Commissioner General of Rehabilitation, Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe has said the former LTTE members currently undergoing rehabilitation are preparing to sit for the GCE Advanced Level examination in August this year.

He has said that 108 former LTTEers were preparing to sit for the examination.

Over 50 percent of the rehabilitated former LTTEers had successfully completed the GCE Ordinary Level examination last December.

Ranasinghe has observed that all former LTTE members currently undergoing rehabilitation will be re-integrated to society by the end of the year. There remains 3,500 persons in rehabilitation centers in the North and East.

Another group of 600 former LTTE cadres is to be released in the first week of July in Vavuniya following rehabilitation.
