The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has said that over 800 raids on errant traders have earned the Authority over Rs. 34 million.
CAA Chairman Rumy Marzook has told the media that the Authority has conducted about 800 raids to date with fines totaling to Rs. 5,653,900.
He has said that the CAA has collected Rs. 34,000,806 through fines from January to June this year.
The raids have been carried out on traders who have violated the Consumer Protection Act by not displaying the retain prices and selling expired products.
