Lankan Tamil IT expert says the Channel 4 video is doctored

Jun 29, 2011 11:38:44 AM - itnnews.lk

A Tamil from Jaffna claims that the LTTE brutally shot and killed several Tamils used as a human shield and video taped them.

Kanapathipillai Devadasan said that several scenes attributed to the Sri Lanka Army in the Channel 4 video were actually killings committed by the Sinhala speaking LTTE cadres on Tamils held hostage by the LTTE. Devadasan, a qualified Information Technology expert who had served in a Scandinavian country, who had closely scrutinized the Channel 4 video claimed it is certainly ‘doctored’ beyond any reasonable doubt.’

Devadasan, who had escaped from the clutches of the LTTE in the final days of the war, said that during the period they were held hostage by the LTTE, they came across LTTE cadres who could speak Sinhala fluently. He had queried one of them how he learnt Sinhala being born in Karaveddy and he had replied that learning Sinhala was mandatory to a handpicked segment of the LTTE who had to visit Colombo to carry out operations in the Capital City. He further claimed that he had no doubt that it was those cadres who yell in Sinhala if the Channel 4 video was carefully listened to and examined.

Making this startling revelation to Lankapuvath Website, Devadasan said his wife and two sons were brutally gunned down by the LTTE in the last stages of the war as his wife refused to give the two sons aged 15 and 17 to the LTTE to be engaged in the war.
