The High Commission of India has felicitated the living legend of Sri Lankan music, Padma Shri Pandit Amaradeva. The felicitation ceremony was held at India House the official residence of the High Commissioner Ashok K. Kantha. The felicitation was in recognition of Pandit Amaradeva’s outstanding and unique contribution to enriching India-Sri Lanka relations through the promotion of music. The event was attended by Senior Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Ministers Prof. G.L Peiris and Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga and ITN Chairman Rosmund Senaratne. Pandit Amaradeva was presented a felicitation plaque by the High Commissioner. The evening concluded with a spellbinding rendition of music by Pandit Amaradeva and his daughter Subhani Amaradeva.
