Development projects worth 15 billion rupees are planned in parallel to the 2012 Deyata Kirula Exhibition to be held in Anuradhapura. This was revealed by Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.
The Minister said that rather than the exhibition, their intention was to give priority to developing the areas within the district. This is the order of the President. The Minister added that their intention was to draw the highest number of visitors to this exhibition.
The Deyata Kirula Exhibition organized in parallel to the Independence Day Celebrations on a concept of the President is being held in other districts without being restricted to Colombo. Accordingly arrangements are being made to hold the 2012 Deyata Kirula Exhibition at Oyamaduwa in the Anuradhapura District. Many development projects in the Anuradhapura District in parallel to this event are already in place. Accordingly firm attention has been drawn to developing Thanthirimale and Vilachchiya remote areas.
Chief Organiser of the Deyata Kiruala Exhibition Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiiya inspected these areas. He was joined by Minister Tissa Karaliyadda, Deputy Ministers W.B. Ekanayake and Duminda Dissanayake, Parliamentarians H.C. Muthukumarana and Shehan Semasinghe and Senior Government Officials. The Government’s desire is to develop and uplift infrastructure in all remote villages in the Anuradhapura District before the conduct of the exhibition. A special discussion in this respect was held in Anuradhapura today.
