A Sri Lanka Cricket Interim Committee has been appointed. It is headed by Upali Dharmadasa.
The appointment of the new committee was announced at a news briefing in Colombo today held under the patronage of Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage. The new Chairman of the Sri Lanka Cricket Interim Committee is Upali Dharmadasa. He had earlier served as Chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket. P. Shaffter is the Secretary. Nimal Perera is the Treasurer. Sidath Wettamuni has also been appointed as a member of the committee. Making the announcement of the appointments of the new Cricket Interim Committee, Minister Aluthgamage announced that the Interim Committee will serve until elections for the Sri Lanka Cricket Board are held in the first quarter of next year. He told the media that the Government’s intention was not to interfere in sports bodies. As such moves were afoot to hold Sri Lanka cricket elections next year.
