A Level results will not be delayed – Education Minister

Minister Bandula Gunawardena has given an assurance that the results of the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination will not be delayed whatever obstacles they confront.

The Education Minister said he was glad to announce that for the first time in Sri Lanka’s history they would complete the posting of 3174 new Aesthetic teachers to schools countrywide during this month.

The Minister was speaking at a function at Sr. Mary’s National School in Kegalla. The Education Minister emphasized that it was the responsibility of the Government to release the results of the Advanced Level Examination for which about 272,000 candidates would be sitting, even a day earlier, in the face of activities of saboteurs. It is planned to recruit more than 3000 Aesthetic teachers within this year.

The Minister revealed of initiatives by the Education Ministry to implement many programmes to develop 1000 schools on the instructions of the President. The Minister declared open a new four storeyed building of the school and also launched work on a new three storeyed building for Past Pupils Association. Parliamentarian Kanaka Herath and Sabaragamuwa Chief Minister Mahipala Herath were among those present.
