In the wake of three recent taxi robberies, Columbia cab drivers are on alert not to pick up anyone whose conduct is suspicious.
“We’ve told our drivers not to pick up someone who is coming out from behind a house, or standing at what appears to be a vacant house,” said Blue Ribbon Cab company manager Steve English.
“It’s best to make sure a passenger is coming out of the front door,” he said.
In the most recent robbery, two men shot a Blue Ribbon Cab driver on Saturday and robbed him.
“He’s still in the hospital, still in critical condition,” English said.
