Police say a van drifted on to the right shoulder of a Charleston bridge, killing a bicyclist by knocking him into the marsh 40 feet below.
Authorities say it took them about an hour after the wreck Tuesday morning to recover the body of 54-year-old Mitchell Hollon.
Investigators say Hollon was an anesthesiologist and an avid cyclist.
Police say the van driver was at fault after his van drifted on to the shoulder where Hollon was riding. The right side of the van's windshield was shattered and its hood crumpled.
No charges have been filed.
