Development work is underway in the Anuradhapura district where the 2012 Deyata Kirula exhibition will be held. Several massive development projects centering the Oyamaduwa area in Anuradhapura were launched today under the patronage of Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya in view of the exhibition. Earlier the representatives of the government led by the Minister paid homage to the Sri Maha Bodhi to invoke its blessings. Members of the Maha Sangha led by Ven. Pallegama Hemaratana thera conducted the religious programme on the guidance of the chief incumbent of the Atamastana Ven. Pallegama Sirinivasa thera. Thereafter the development projects were launched under their patronage. Ministers S.M. Chandrasena, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Tissa Karalliyadda, Deputy Ministers Duminda Dissanayake, W.B. Ekanayake, Chief Minister of the North Central Province Berty Premalal Dissanayake, Parliamentarian Shehan Semasinghe, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga, Secretary to the Media Ministry W.B. Ganegala also participated in the function. The Youth Centre of the National Youth Services Council to be constructed at the expenditure of 24 million rupees and the construction work of the provincial sports complex was also launched.
