The agreement on oil excavation will be amended. At the Cabinet briefing Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said that the Cabinet granted approval for the proposal presented by the President.Accordingly the Cabinet has granted approval to amend the agreement signed between the Sri Lankan government and the Cairn Lanka Pvt. Ltd. The proposal has been made by President Mahinda Rajapaksa. A large scale tourism centre will be developed in the Katana town. The Cabinet approved the proposal tabled by Minister Basil Rajapaksa. 1.5 billion rupees of foreign investments will be used. The Cabinet also approved the amendments proposed for the Rana Viru Seva Act. The Act will be amended facilitating changes to be effected to the composition of the board of management of the Rana Viru Seva Authority. Five hundred and five million rupees will be allocated for upgrading the water supply facilities of the Madhu Church. The project will be launched under two phases on a proposal made by Minister Dinesh Gunawardena. The cabinet has approved the construction of the Ellewewa reservoir in the Embilipitiya divisional secretariat area in Ratnapura. The proposal has been tabled by Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva. 470 million rupees will be spent. The inner roads of the Rukmalgama housing scheme are being renovated. Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said that the proposal was made by Minister Wimal Weerawanse.
