A posse invaded a Bethune home Monday to retaliate against two men who cut a friend with a razor blade.
Now, eight people have been arrested and charged with crimes ranging from first-degree assault to burglary, Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews said.
The incident started after two people allegedly cut a man's leg from his ankle to his groin, Matthews said. The man returned to his home and called 911.
Meanwhile, several of the victim's friends and a cousin, who carried a gun, allegedly drove to the home of the attackers, Matthews said. Once there, the mob kicked in the door and broke windows. One man was injured in the melee after he was hit in the head with a cinder block, Matthews said.
Deputies arrested eight people at the scene.
