A road network built in the Southern Province will be vested in the public tomorrow. The expenditure incurred was six billion rupees.
The Road Development Project was launched under the Government’s programme of upgrading transport facilities of the people developing the entire road network of the country. Accordingly the Pelawatta, Neluwa-Morawaka road linking the Western and Southern Provinces had been developed at a cost of four billion rupees. The expenditure incurred on the Horawala- Pitigala road via Pelawatta was 1448 million rupees. The road network developed is an impetus to enrich the tea industry and the living conditions of the people of the area. These roads are due to be declared open tomorrow.
