The next step in Miss South Carolina Bree Boyce's master plan to inspire Americans to switch to healthy lifestyles: Win the swimsuit title at the Miss America competition.
"Whatever it is in life you want to do, it takes hard work," Boyce told "The Today Show" correspondent Ann Curry this morning in New York. "Anything is possible as long as you put your mind to it."
Boyce, of Florence, lost 110 pounds over three years en route to winning her Miss S.C. title earlier this month in Columbia. She visited NBC's morning news show as well as "Good Morning America" on ABC.
Curry asked Boyce what she felt upon winning the state crown.
"I have no words," Boyce said. "I just thought to myself, 'I did it. I did it all on my own.' ... I'm thankful I have this platform to share this story."
