The Elections Department has said that postal voters who were unable to cast their votes on Tuesday and Wednesday could mark their votes on Friday (15).
Deputy Elections Commissioner W.P. Sumanasiri has said that a total of 55,871 voters had been registered for postal voting held on Tuesday and Wednesday for 65 local government bodies at the elections that would be held on July 23.
Meanwhile, elections monitoring group People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) has said 28 complaints of election related violence had been received by the organization and almost all of them were minor incidents.
PAFFREL has said it had deployed 125 elections observers to monitor the postal voting.
