A novel Pinkama displaying religious cooperation was held at Kandapola in Nuwara Eliya. A Perahera was organised by the temple for the unveiling of the pinnacle of the Kovil The unveiling of the pinnacle of the Sri Sitthi Vinayagar Kovil in Kandapola was held on a grand scale this morning. A notable feature was the organisation of the function displaying cooperation among the religions. A Perahera led by members of the Maha Sangha left for the Sri Sitthi Vinayagar Kovil after the Buddhist and Hindu devotees gathered at the Sri Jinendrarama Vihare in Kandapola. Thereafter the unveiling of the Pinnacle took place. Another significance of the event was the offering of alms in the afternoon to the members of the Maha Sangha and over 15 thousand Buddhist and Hindu devotees who participated in the event.
