The President has been invited for the International Summit of Asia Pacific Region Quantity surveyors.
The Summit will be held in Colombo on 25th and 26th of this month. The Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Sri Lanka invited President Mahinda Rajapaksa to participate in the inauguration ceremony as the Chief Guest. The members of the Institute who met the President at the Temple Trees held detailed discussions with him in this connection. Over 120 delegates representing 13 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, China, Japan and Malaysia are expected to participate in the summit. The Officials of the Institute informed the President that there is a huge demand in the world for the Quantity Surveyors who pass out from the University of Moratuwa. They expressed their appreciation to the President for taking measures to increase the number of graduates who pass out from 50 to 100. The President informed them that the service of quantity surveyors passing out from the University is being obtained for major infrastructure development projects currently underway.
