Three hundred and two former LTTE cadres who are undergoing rehabilitation will be sitting the GCE (A) Level examination next month.
Commissioner General of Rehabilitation Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe said that three are sitting from the math stream while 12 are from the science stream. Fifty seven are sitting from the Commerce stream and 230 are sitting from the Arts stream. There are 5 females amongst them. He said that a special school is being held in Vavuniya for their benefit. He noted that 222 passed the examination out of 361 last year. It is expected that this year too a large number will pass the examination and enter the universities.
