The Army is constructing 100 houses in ten days providing strength to transform the lives of the people in the North.
The Army has launched this programme for the benefit of low income earners. The soldiers of the Army are engaged in constructing the houses under a concept of President Rajapaksa and the supervision of Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Army Commander Lt. General Jagath Jayasuriya. The funds for this purpose have been granted by the Northern Province Governor G. A. Chandrasiri. The Army said that more than 500,000 rupees is being spent on each house. The houses will be handed over to their owners by the President within the next two days.
