A murder suspect who is considered armed and dangerous continues to elude law enforcement officers who have been looking for him since April.
Wayne Lamar Mobley, 21, also know as Chicken Wing, is wanted on a murder charge for the death of Bobby Edwards Jr. on April 11, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department said. The shooting happened at 10:20 p.m. on Winterwood Road, which is off of Monticello Road in North Columbia.
Edwards was shot while outside the house and ran inside, fell on a bed and died, the sheriff’s department said. Witnesses provided information that led them to pin Mobley as the suspect.
At the time, Mobley had been released from jail on a bond after being arrested for two counts of murder, two counts of armed robbery and two counts of trafficking cocaine, the sheriff’s department said.
Investigators believe that Mobley is in the Monticello Road area, said Richland County Deputy Curtis Wilson, a sheriff’s department spokesman. Mobley has intimidated people, and they are afraid to report his whereabouts, Wilson said.
