Agricultural implements have been given to upgrade the living standards of 2000 farmer families in Jaffna. A programme is already in place in Jaffna to improve the living standards of the farmer community in the Jaffna District, seriously impacted as a result of terrorist activities. Under this programme agricultural implements were distributed among 2000 farmer families under the patronage of Minister S.M. Chandrasena. The agricultural gear was presented to farmer families coming under Farmer Organisations of Neerveli, Kayts, Kopai, Achchuveli, Thilippalai, Ilukkadu, Uralai and Puttur in Jaffna. The Minister said that the agricultural gear would be much beneficial for the families who have resettled in their villages after being displaced by the war.
