A North woman has been charged in connection with the theft of funds from a youth soccer club, West Columbia Police announced today.
Kimberly Denice Stripling, 41, of Catalina Boulevard was arrested Thursday and faces charges of breach of trust of more than $2,000 but less than $10,000, said Chief Dennis Tyndall.
Stripling, who was employed with Grace Baptist Church, had served as treasurer of the West Metro Soccer Club. The warrant alleges that over the course of about a year, Stripling, who had access to the clubs debit card and check book, used club funds for her personal use.
Investigators say Stripling allegedly used between $23,000 and $28,000 of soccer funds in multiple jurisdictions, among them Richland County, Lexington County and the town of Lexington. Investigations in those jurisdictions are ongoing, and additional charges may be filed against Stripling.
It was not known late this afternoon whether Stripling is still employed by Grace Baptist Church.
