A stretch of Interstate 95 near Walterboro is being dedicated in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen, the nation's first black Army airmen.
Tuskegee Memorial Highway signs are being unveiled Sunday at the Colleton County Courthouse.
The airmen who became pilots during World War II received their flight training at the Tuskegee Army Air Field in Tuskegee, Alabama.
They also received their combat training at several army air bases along the East Coast, including what was then the Walterboro Army Airfield.
That field is now the Lowcountry Regional Airport in Walterboro.
