The U.S. Coast Guard has rescued three people from the Charleston Harbor after a 21-foot recreational boat struck a submerged cable marker.
The Coast Guard says search and rescue controllers got a distress call from the boat at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
A crew rescued three passengers and brought them to shore to be checked out by medical personnel. Two people were sent to a hospital with a broken arm and head injuries.
Charleston County sheriff's deputies and South Carolina Department of Natural Resources officers arrested the operator for boating under the influence of alcohol.
