The JHU says that the TNA has managed to defeat the government only by a small percentage.
JHU General Secretary and Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka told a press conference that the forces operating against the government had been sent a clear message through the recently concluded local government elections.
He said that the election results from the North did not in any way express the need for a federal administrative system by the Tamil community.
He added that the TNA should work to develop the areas in the North that it had won instead of provoking the Tamil people.
According to Ranawaka, the TNA has to accept the country’s popular opinion.
