Tamil National Alliance MP M.A. Sumandiran says it is high time the Tamil Diaspora change their opinions.
Responding to a question that was raised at a special meeting conducted at the TNA London branch, Mr. Sumandiran made this statement reiterating the fact. According to reports from London, this meeting saw the presence of both LTTE supporters as well as non-extremist.
As there were constant interruption from LTTE supporters to Mr. Sumandiran’s speech, he reiterated that it was high time that the Tamil community change their ideas and opinions regarding Sri Lanka and its people.
Mr. Sumandiran pointed out that the TNA is currently in discussion with the Srilankan government regarding issues pertaining to the Tamil community. These discussions have turned out to be quite promising and the community has much faith in these discussions. In addition, he revealed that diplomats in foreign nations are not impressed by the actions of the Tamil Diaspora and pointed out that they have disclosed they will not cater to the whims of the Tamil Diaspora.
Speaking to the International Tamil community at the meeting held in London, Mr. Sumandiran further said that the majority of the population in Sri Lanka were Sinhalese and therefore, the Tamil community should agree to a solution which is agreeable to the Sinhalese community.
Meanwhile, reports from London further said that Mr. Sumandiran’s voice was more powerful than the rest of the community at the meeting.
