Two Gilbert men were jailed Tuesday after a vacant mobile home was burgled of a window air conditioning unit.
Lexington County Sheriff’s deputies arrrested Arromus Jamario Abney, 21, of Summers Place Drive, and Johnny Lavon Bowers Jr., 19, of the same address, in connection with the incident.
The mobile home’s owner, who lives next door, called the sheriff’s department Tuesday morning to report that two men, including one with a handgun, were breaking into the residence on the 3800 block of Augusta Highway. The owner, Marlon Hernandez, said he watched the burglars carry off a window air conditioning unit.
Deputies found and arrested Abney at Summers Place Drive and Redhaven Road, about 200 yards from the crime. At some point before Abney’s arrest, Hernandez said he confronted him and was threatened with a handgun.
Bowers was arrested later at his home.
